Olivia Palermo and Leandra Medine Are Into This Free Styling Trick
The entire fashion world is wearing their jackets or coats shrugged off their shoulders throughout the streets of LFW, but there's a more directional idea in town. Meet the sweater sling: a knotted jumper flung diagonally across the torso instead of being fastened at the waist, approved by arbiters of style such as Leandra Medine (she calls hers her "sweater-scarf") and Olivia Palermo. Ideal for those changeable weather days (read: any given day in Britain) and a free way to add interest to the basic cashmere crew-neck relaxing in the back of your closet. No small wonder that these trusted ladies aren't the only ones to herald the new hack this week. Keep scrolling for OP and Leandra showcasing this styling trick, and to see where else we've spotted it.
Only just now did we witness the idea in action at Pringle Of Scotland's knit-heavy A/W 17 collection: Plenty of the hygge-ready looks included a double-up in the jumper department, confirming this is the coolest way to wear a twinset now. But we also remembered back to Eudon Choi's show on Friday, where the designer chose chunky ribbed jumpers as giant asymmetric scarves to be worn over shirting and jackets. Three's a trend, and four will ring alarm bells in our closets.
