It Seems Fashion People Have Chosen a New Viral The Row Shoe, and We're in Agreement
All hail The Row Hudson Slides; the perfect shoe for everyday, the office, flights and so much more.
Anything The Row releases tends to spark the same chain reaction: instant devotion, sell-out virality and an ever-expanding wait list. Next in line? The Hudson Slides. I've spotted these mules on the feet of influencers I trust (and celebrities with low-key style like Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner) for a few seasons now, always styled in that effortless and luxuriously unbothered way The Row does best. The appeal is obvious. They're minimal without looking stark, refined without trying too hard and somehow manage to make even the most thrown-together outfit thoughtfully styled.
The Hudson Slide itself is beautifully simple: a softly structured leather upper, an almond-shaped toe that feels modern but not trend-led and a flat sole that actually works for real life. You could wear them all day without thinking about your feet, which, when we're talking about trending shoes, is rare.
Yes, the price is steep, but I've done the cost-per-wear maths, and in my opinion, they justify themselves, mainly because they're wearable year-round. I can wear mine with thick socks, tailored trousers and an oversized coat in January, and I already know they'll carry me straight through to spring with relaxed denim and a trench, then into summer with linen trousers and breezy shirts.
I will say this, though: The Row has a habit of quietly discontinuing some of its most beloved pieces, so if the Hudson Slides have been sitting on your mood board for a while, you might want to consider taking the plunge sooner rather than later. Scroll on to shop the Hudson Mules, plus a few other mule styles I rate if you want something in a similar vein.
