We have certainly reached peak Labubu. Months after the little monster went viral for being the bag charm of 2025, the fashion set seemed a little exhausted. The idea that throwing quirky charms on an expensive bag showed you didn't really care was no longer true. If anything, it showed you were really trying to keep up with the trends. One of the biggest bag charm trends is the repurposing of what would be a bag charm as a necklace. This kind of look was seen last season at Coach's spring/summer 2026 show, where models wore necklaces with small kiss-lock bags and pouches on long chains dangling from their necks.

We're predicting that these necklaces will be an It item of 2026, but they'll also inspire a new ethos around bag charms, like tiny bags, tassels, pendants, stones, and more. Sure, you can take them off your bags, but you can then repurpose them and wear them around your neck for a new look that still feels fun but far fresher.

The other big bag charm trend of 2026 is all about texture. At Chloé, models carried Paddington bags with fur stole keychains swinging from them. The Paddington bag's appeal (it is on track to be the biggest It bag of the year, after all) has a lot to do with the fact that it already comes adorned with a large lock. But the fur stole adds the extra oomph that feels so seventies.
