A-Listers Are Wearing Corsets, but We'd Really Prefer a Camisole
The ease and simplicity of a camisole, or cami, top is unfortunately being dwarfed right now by the more ferocious A-list penchant for corsetry. The laced-up cincher is, admittedly, a major look for the season ahead, and celebrities a-plenty are already jumping aboard the waist-training train, but right now we can't help but be attracted to an easier, slinkier way of life. One look at Kim Kardashian trussed up in leather and we couldn't feel more alienated (she looks SO jaw-droppingly smokin') or at a higher risk of being uncontrollably sweaty.
Corsets may be filtering into stores and wardrobes by the dozen, but it's camis that are becoming a normal part of a street-snapped girl's capsule wardrobe—and there are many chic ways to wear one without trying too hard.

And if you felt, once upon a time, that this piece wasn't for you, we've got news: Girls blessed with ample chests can now shop from styles with thicker straps that allow bras to be worn underneath, or you can make like a '90s throwback, layering one over a white crew-neck jersey. Some camis are wildly luxurious and therefore super expensive (we're talking about you, Givenchy), but you can easily pick up a pretty version or two on the high street as well. Which is where we step in on your quest for a new going-out top. Our editors have tracked down the best styles for every budget, whether you've got £500 to blow or £25 to spare.
